Accessibility Statement
A site that works the same whether you're using a mouse, a keyboard, or a screen reader.
Buying or selling a home is hard enough. The website you're researching it on shouldn't be the obstacle. Here's our standard, what we test for, and how to tell us when we miss.
Our standard
WCAG 2.2 AA, with annual review
Wildflower Colorado Home Co is committed to digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We design, build, and maintain this site to conform to the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at the AA level.
We review the site at least annually with both automated tooling (Lighthouse, axe-core) and manual checks (keyboard-only walkthrough, screen-reader spot checks). We treat accessibility as an ongoing practice, not a one-time audit.
Specifically
What we commit to on every page
WCAG 2.2 AA target
We design and build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 AA standard — the same standard used by federal and state agencies.
Keyboard navigation
Every interactive element on the site is reachable and operable with a keyboard. Visible focus rings are required, never removed.
Screen reader support
Semantic HTML, descriptive alt text, ARIA where needed, and one H1 per page so VoiceOver, JAWS, and NVDA users hear a logical structure.
Color + contrast
Body text meets 4.5:1 contrast minimum and large text meets 3:1, tested against our forest, cream, terracotta, and sage palette.
Touch targets
Buttons and links are at least 44 by 44 pixels on mobile, with adequate spacing so adjacent targets aren't accidentally tapped.
Reduced motion
Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting. If your OS asks for less motion, the site honors it.
Known limitations
What we're still working on
Some embedded third-party content — including the MLS listings feed (REcolorado / IRES) and external mapping tiles — is rendered by providers we don't control. We've configured these integrations for the best accessibility experience available to us, but a small number of widgets may not yet meet our internal standard.
PDF resources we author (such as the Wildflower Guide) are generated with tagged structure and accessible read order. If you need any of our resources in an alternative format — large-print, plain-text, audio summary — email us and we'll get it to you within two business days.
